Location
OtherLandmark was contracted by the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations to reconstruct the Tamihi FSR near Chilliwack BC. The original gully fills were blown out during a storm in 2009. The site is located in steep sloping, gullied terrain with clay till soils. The geosynthetic reinforced soil (GRS) design allowed for the reinstatement of the road without excessive end haul or long, deep gully fills.
Landmark’s project highlights include:
- Constructing retaining walls >10m in height on 80% slopes,
- Constructing retaining walls with lesser quality in-situ soils.
Another successful project done in collaboration with Terratech Consulting Ltd.
