Landmark was retained by Hawthorne Gold Corp. to design and build a new bridge to replace an existing structure at their mine site in Jade City, B.C. This project involved the survey, design, supply, and installation of the 25 meter, BCL 625 bridge. The abutments and wing walls were constricted using steel faced geosynthetic reinforced soil (GRS), at a considerable savings over conventional concrete construction. This concept allowed the abutment to be built entirely out of local materials. This was a significant costs savings due to the remoteness of this site and the cost of bringing in materials.

Landmark’s project highlights include:

  • 8 day construction – start to completion
  • 3 month turnaround from concept to completion
  • Use of local abutment material
