Landmark was retained to design and build a replacement crossing over Monday Creek in Conklin Alberta. A GRS supported arch was designed to replace the existing single lane bridge that was constructed 40 years earlier. The arch was chosen as it allowed the new road to be double-laned without significantly increasing the cost of the project.
Landmark’s project highlights include:
- Installing a 14 meter span arch over a flowing river without dewatering,
- Using local in-situ material for backfill, greatly reducing overall cost by eliminating expensive import of aggregate,
- Allowing 24-7 traffic for the duration of the project.
Another successful project done in collaboration with Terratech Consulting Ltd.
